The following locations have an URGENT NEED for $ 55/hr. Qualified Mental Health Professionals. MONDAY- FRIDAY-8:00am-4:30 pm.

  • All Ionia Correctional Facilities
  • Cotton and Egeler Jackson Correctional Facilities
  • Carson City Correctional Facility – Critical Need
  • Central Michigan Correctional Facility – ST. Louis
  • Kinross/Chippewa Correctional Facility (Kincheloe)
  • Newberry Correctional Facility
  • Oaks Correctional Facility (Manistee) – Critical Need 
  • St. Louis Correctional Facility

****A pre-employment physical, 2 step TB test and drug screen is also required

Qualifications of the Qualified Mental Health Professional

  • Valid Masters level Social Work, Counseling or Psychology degree
  • Current Michigan License to practice as Qualified Mental Health Professional
  • Credentialing through MCBAP is preferred
  • Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management, and documentation skills.
  • Must possess the disposition of the personality to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff and interact professionally as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Certified to provide Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Responsibilities of the Qualified Mental Health Professional

  • Education of incarcerated individuals on substance use disorders and MAT
  • Completion of assessments and treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group sessions focused on recovery skills and long term success
  • Knowledgeable and supportive of the 3 types of FDA=approved medications to treat opiate use disorders.
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Able to utilize electronic record formats
