The starting wage for a Certified Medical Assistant is $20.50 and is eligible for overtime and holiday pay. The following facilities have openings for a Medical Assistant

* A pre-employment physical, 2-step TB test, and drug screen are required.
Qualifications of the Medical Assistant Correctional/Contractual (MA)
- Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program, whose program is accredited.
- Certificate as a Medical Assistant in the state in which he/she is required to practice.
- Must possess strong patient assessment, patient management and documentation skills.
- Ability to function in any facility or home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability or financial condition of patients.
- Must possess the disposition of the personality to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff, and interact professionally as a member of multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet facility and patient needs.
- Certified to provide Basic Cardiac Life Support.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Duties of the Medical Assistant Correctional/Contractual (MA)
- Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondences.
- Knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment as necessary/specified by the working environment.
- Methods of analyzing blood, sputum, milk, water, urine, food products, contaminates, soil, industrial and municipal waste.
